Applications for recognition of academic achievements in the field of school education

Study achievements in the field of educational science/school pedagogy that have been completed in another degree programme and/or at another university can be recognised for the new degree programme in school pedagogy under certain conditions. For this purpose, an examination is carried out by the recognition officers at the Chair of School Pedagogy with a focus on empirical teaching research.

If you would like to submit an application, please proceed as follows:

  1. Download the corresponding Application form and fill it in according to the information provided. Pay attention to entries that may only be made by the chair.
  2. Please enclose a current extract from the Overview of services of the examination administration (at FAU: ‘My Campus’), stating which achievements (form, content, grade, credit points) are to be completed and recognised. In the case of credits earned at other universities, an extract from the relevant module handbook explaining the courses and credits must also be included. IMPORTANT: When deciding on the application, it will be checked individually in each case which of the achievements can be recognised. The learning and competence objectives in the module handbook are decisive for this.
  3. Hand in your documents in the Secretariat for forwarding (for the attention of Dr. Florian Hofmann). It is not absolutely necessary to hand in your thesis in person; you can of course also use the chair’s letterbox or post. IMPORTANT: Submission by e-mail is NOT possible.
  4. They are organised by the chair notifiedas soon as a decision has been made on your application. During the corona protection measures: If you leave a postal address, the decision will be sent to you.
